A key MetaProteomics discovery is the existence and mechanism of highly specialized bioactive molecules known as selective kinase response modulators, or SKRMs.
Our research identified SKRMs derived from plant-based compounds, as having the ability to modulate specific cell signaling pathways, which may play a role in chronic illness. This mechanism of action is exciting in that it's different from any other class of therapeutics.
- SKRMs derived from hops (Humulus lupulus L.), acacia (Acacia nilotica), and other phytocompounds have been successfully incorporated into Metagenics formulas.
Research on further therapeutic applications of SKRM technology is underway.
