In the role of Procurement Manager you are responsible for formulating and implementing the procurement strategy with a view to optimising the procurement process.
You manage a team of 5 employees and draw up guidelines, systems and procedures so that the purchasing processes function properly. Furthermore, you initiate improvement projects and strive for cost savings, taking into account market developments.
In addition, you ensure, within your team, a positive working atmosphere where you continue to stimulate your employees in the performance of their duties. You negotiate new contracts and evaluate the progress and quality of the service provided. In doing so, you build and maintain a good relationship with your suppliers.
In this role, you support and work closely together with various departments, including R&D and Production,... and you translate the business needs to the suppliers. You report to the Plant Director.
You have a Master's degree supplemented by at least 5 years of relevant experience in a similar position, including people management. You have a good knowledge of Dutch, English and French, have communication skills and are a crack at negotiating.
Furthermore, you have an analytical and rational mind and work accurately. Moreover, you work fluently with Excel and are IT minded. You have a good insight into the management of purchasing budgets and are proactive and solution-oriented. You work within a rapidly changing environment and are able to adopt a flexible attitude.
Finally, you are willing to travel within Europe for up to 30% of your time.
